FAT? TUESDAY?

HAPPY SHROVETIDE!
DID YOU KNOW??? The word 'shrove' is the past tense of the English verb shrive.
AND YOU KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS, RIGHT???
It means "to obtain absolution for one's sins by way of Confession and doing penance..." (AKA, "REPENT, YOU SINNER!")
"Shrove Tuesday" is the last day of "shrovetide". (Remember that word...)
The term "Shrove Tuesday" is lame and is no longer used in the United States outside of the Roman Catholic Church.
(cool people just call it "Mardi Gras") werd.

BET YOU DIDNT KNOW THIS EITHER! Mardi Gras (or Shrove Tuesday, if you're lame) is widely associated with the eating of fattening foods like pancakes. People who are "down" sometimes refer to it as Pancake Day. (not kidding)

WERD OF THE DAY IS
NOT MARDI GRAS, OR SHROVETIDE... it is:

PANCAKE
(USE IT! and don't talk with your mouth full)
